13 Reasons You Feel Depleted (And How to Fix It)
The Great Work Reset: Transforming Care in a World Gone Mad
If you’ve been feeling unheard, defeated, drained, undervalued, unappreciated, unloved, stagnant, anxious, or simply numb to the world around you, this message is for you.
Over the past 10 months, I've been going through a profound transformation, much like a butterfly in its cocoon, waiting for the right moment to soar. But this butterfly wasn’t quite ready to emerge; the world outside wasn’t what she expected. As you may know, I dedicated 7 of those months to preparing the grand opening of The Occult Chateau, a brick-and-mortar shop in Saint Petersburg, Florida, which we celebrated on August 11, 2024.
However, just three weeks later, I made the difficult but intuitive decision to close the shop due to poor construction—paper-thin walls that compromised the space.
To say I was heartbroken would be an understatement.
What I was really experiencing was a nervous system in overdrive. I had been pushing myself to the limit (I’ll spare the details), and every fiber of my being was screaming, “GET OUT.”
So, I did.
While making the decision brought a small sense of relief, the real struggle began when I faced the overwhelming task of moving all the products and furniture out of the space and breaking a lease that had proven negligent.
I gave myself 60 days to liquidate the antiques and furnishings, with a deadline of October 31, 2024—now fast approaching. After enduring two hurricanes back to back, I’ve reached a level of exhaustion that has fractured my spirit in unexpected ways.
During Hurricane Milton, we lost power for nearly five days. I took that time to dive into my occult library and reflect deeply on what was happening within me. As I cleared away leaves, debris, and branches, I listened to my inner dialogue, which had grown louder than ever. And this is what I heard:
We live in a culture of "out of sight, out of mind." Whether it's natural disasters, wars, or even small moments on social media, I’ve seen how little people express true care. It’s as though the world around us is make-believe, with so many glued to their screens, unaware of the real human connections and struggles that lie just beyond their immediate view.
It’s rare these days to see someone reach out with genuine care, even a simple text to ask how you’re doing. Instead, you get demanding emails about their needs, with no consideration that something outside of their world might be going on. Surely, with the instant speed of social media, people can see when parts of the world are flooded, homes are lost, and lives are taken—yet many seem to ignore the deeper impact. It’s as if people have forgotten that war means the killing of innocent lives, people they know nothing about.
How can we live in a technologically advanced age yet be so emotionally disconnected? How can we expect to birth a new world when there’s so little compassion and true care for one another? How can we sustain friendships when the only acknowledgment is them watching your Instagram Story, instead of offering a word of comfort?
I have to ask—what are we actually doing? It seems people just want the story, to be in the loop, but is that genuine care? Or is it just gossip? If you don’t bother to check in with someone regularly, why do you feel entitled to know how they’re doing?
Care isn’t scrolling through someone’s Facebook feed. Care isn’t just a quick DM. True Care is far deeper.
As the political landscape unfolds, I find myself baffled by how many people proudly uphold the idea of the "American Dream," a dream that often thrives on the manipulation—or even the destruction—of others to impose their will.
It’s mind-blowing to see how many are against welcoming immigrants into this country, especially when they’ve proven to be the real heroes during times of crisis—like the electricians and laborers who restored my city of Saint Petersburg after a devastating natural disaster.
And yet, some still want to build a wall? It’s absurd.
How do you think this mindset reflects deeper societal issues?
Would you like to explore the symbolism of borders and boundaries in esoteric teachings?
How can these reflections be woven into an individual ritual for healing collective wounds?
There is a REASON you feel depleted, tired, exhausted, unloved, unheard, and undervalued…
Because the upside down world we live in defies the Care Principle.
And so we are clear: Care and “care” are not the same.
I am speaking of Care with a capital “C” and that means, you must journey inward. You must develop your higher faculties, otherwise it’s cheap “care”.
Lowercase “care” is just that — lower self care. It’s the, “What’s in it for me? Will it make me look nice? Will I appear empathetic? Does this action make me look like a good person?”
Well, the buck stops here. If you’re anything like I am feeling today, there is no more room for lower self care.
If a new world is to be birthed and direct the new epoch to be better than its former, we as a civilization have to change. We have to Care. We have to Care about ourselves FIRST.
Here’s the thing: lowercase care is all about appearing a certain way because deep down the majority are so disconnected from their own humanity. This is why we have to dig deeper within the very essence of our being if we are to end our own suffering — our own demise.
To support this transition and rebirth, I know I have to be the change, and I encourage you to do the same—especially if you’ve been feeling the weight of the world pressing down. I experienced a deep sadness while raking leaves after the hurricane, a heaviness in my soul. How could anyone not feel depleted, unvalued, unheard, and unloved in a world that glorifies millionaire status, Hollywood distractions, and political theater?
As I wrap up the process of clearing out my retail space over the next couple of weeks, I want you to know that I’m already preparing for The Great Work Reset, and it’s happening right here on The Occult Chateau Substack. We need this reset more than ever, but let me be clear: this has nothing to do with 15-minute cities or ego-driven wars.
The Great Work Reset is the real reset, and it must happen within each of us. We need to transform superficial “care” into genuine Care, and that’s exactly what we’ll be working on together.
You might be wondering: what are the 13 reasons you feel depleted and how can you fix them? It begins with the lunar year, honoring the Divine Feminine, the Underworld, and the unconscious and subconscious parts of ourselves. This journey is reflected in a 13 month lunar cycle, symbolized by your 13 consecutive Chrism Rituals.
Do you want to be part of the change this world so desperately needs? Then it’s time to reset your esoteric dial to its true Care function. And yes, it’s going to take work, THE GREAT WORK, but when you change, the world changes naturally.
To prepare for this new series here at The Occult Chateau Substack, please be sure you’re doing The Chrism Ritual.
In my next entry, I will share more about the process of magick and it’s importance during The Great Work Reset.
If you know someone who would like to participate in The Great Work Reset, please share this post.

And you already know Your Rebirth that will come from the ashes of the bricks and mortar Occult Chateau will be worth the heartbreak you feel now. My Chrism is next week... thanks for the reminder to add some Care to it, Angel. 💖💖💖
